BTS Tankers signs Gulf of Guinea Declaration

BTS Tankers signs Gulf of Guinea Declaration

Earlier this week, BTS Tankers have signed the Gulf of Guinea Declaration on Suppression of Piracy, which was launched by BIMCO. So far, almost 370 shipping stakeholders have signed this declaration.

As background, hundreds of seafarers are being kidnapped and held for ransom under dangerous conditions in the Niger Delta. In one such incident, a seafarer was shot and killed.

The attacks on merchant ships in the Gulf of Guinea by pirates must end as seafarers have enough to contend with at sea, even more so now with Covid-19 and the crew change crisis.

Join us and others in signing this declaration to put an end to it. For further details, visit https://lnkd.in/dz9Ru3Y
